What Customers Say About HP Pavilion Artist Edition DV2890NR 14.1-inch Laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 Processor, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Vista Premium):

I was really sad because I only had it for over a year.contacted several computer stores but they told me the same thing: I would have to get a new mother board. Called HP, my warranty is no longer good (they only cover for a year, sneaky bastards). Same thing happen to my bf's HP.
With a webcam, built-in bluetooth, HDMI, DVD-burner, and decent enough graphics chip the laptop really delivered. Purchased my artist edition from Amazon in late June/early July of 2008. Well, everything but the graphics card, that is. Laptop was great, with an emphasis on the was. The art design is excellent, and the multimedia features included put even some new laptop releases to shame. If you'll check the net, you'll soon find that the 8400 series of Nvidea cards is notorious for early failures. So while the hardware is great while it lasts, it's designed to fail, and most likely in far less than 24 months (what i consider a minimum reasonable expectation for a notebook)
Since the purchase I noticed that it used to heated being a long time on, I thought it was normal, but everybody told me that should not be so. I bought one of these just one year and 4 months ago and it cost me $ 970 by those days, and guess what. With the time the problem was getting worse. ---It is already damaged---. I do not recommend this brand to anyone. And a few days ago began to warm up faster and also shut down very fast until it rises to just turn it on and off immediately.PD.: My language is spanish. I tried to do my best translating mi words to english.
Todo esta muy bien,el unico problema es el tablero, las letras no son faciles de ver especialmente en lugares de poca iluminacion, eso evito que le diera 5 estrellas.
Ok I just love my artist edition HP, I used to own a black regular dv2000 and I had a lot of problems with that one, I had to sent it for repair and everything and, I don't know. overall I didn't have a good experience with that one.But I traded my old one with my dad and bought this artist edition just crossing my fingers hoping this one to be a keeper, and IT DEFINITLY IS.No webcam problems (other one worked 1/3 times I tried using it), the touch buttons are more resposive, the touchpad buttons feel more rigid. And the desing on the computer makes it unique. So its fully recommended.
